A man was found dead in a Polk Street residence on Thursday, police said.

Officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Polk Street around 8:18 a.m., after receiving a phone call about a dead body, police Officer Albie Esparza said. Upon arrival officers saw the man was a victim of homicide, which the medical examiner confirmed.

The victim was pronounced deceased at 8:25 a.m., cops said. The actual time of death was unknown, Esparza said. It appeared the victim had been deceased for quite a while, he said.

Due to the condition of the body, how the victim was killed and how long he’d been deceased is unknown, Esparza said.  

There is no additional information as of this time.
