A man was stabbed in the chest in the Tenderloin on Thursday, police said.
The 54-year-old victim was near the intersection of Turk and Jones streets around 7:45 p.m. when a man in his 40s asked for a dollar, cops said.
The victim refused to give the man a dollar and the “incident escalated into a physical fight,” cops said. The panhandler then pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the chest.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for an injury that was considered life threatening, police said. No arrest has been made.
