San Francisco police find firearm in puff jacket pat-down

Wearing a puff jacket on a warm afternoon got a man arrested for gun possession in San Francisco on Saturday.

Two cops were called to Paul and San Bruno avenues around 4:25 p.m. on a report about a person with a gun, police at Ingleside Station said.

Two cops noticed a man wearing a “heavy, puffed jacket” and thought it was odd given the warm weather.

“Suspects often wear heavy jackets, even on warmer days, to conceal firearms,” police said.

The cops patted down the suspect, found a handgun, and then were swarmed by other people who yelled at the cops demanding that the suspect be let go, police said.

They successfully arrested the suspect without further incident.

The suspect was booked at Ingleside Station on possession of a loaded firearm.
