Man beaten in Chinatown for not repaying loan, San Francisco police say

A man carrying $2,000 in cash in San Francisco’s Chinatown was beaten and robbed Sunday because he refused to pay off an old loan, police said.

The victim, a 50-year-old man, suffered only minor injuries in the brawl at Washington and Wentworth streets around 9:45 p.m.

The suspect, a 46-year-old man, demanded the victim pay off an old loan, threatened to kill him, and then beat him to the ground. The suspect then snatched the $2,000 out of the victim’s hand and fled, police said.

There has been no arrest, police said Tuesday morning.
