This robber could be hiding out in a Bay Area middle school.

Authorities say a boy between ages 10 and 12 snatched a purse from a 66-year-old woman in the parking lot behind a Target store in Daly City on Sunday.

A witness heard the woman screaming for help around 2:45 p.m. and saw the boy running through the lot with a purse under his arm. The witness pulled up alongside the boy in his car and asked him if he really wanted to go to jail over a purse, police said.

The boy said “No,” and handed the witness the purse, police said.

The boy was last seen walking west on Serramonte Boulevard. The witness returned the woman’s purse, police said.
