SF homeowner batters deliveryman for not moving furniture

This customer was not right. A deliveryman dropping off a bed at a San Francisco home was grabbed by the throat and hollered at for not moving the existing furniture Wednesday, police said.

The battery happened in the St. Francis Wood neighborhood, near West Portal, just after 3 p.m.

The deliveryman explained to the man that homeowners are responsible for moving existing furniture, unless they paid a fee for the added service, police said.

As he left the home, the homeowner hollered at him, followed him out and grabbed him by the throat. The deliveryman was not injured.

Police said officers responded to the home, but the owner did not answer the door.
