A San Francisco high school student’s refusal to pull up his sagging pants prompted a call for police intervention Tuesday.

A teacher told cops the student “became belligerent and took a fighting stance” after he was asked to pull up his pants, police at Taraval Station said.

Officers went to the school in the 2100 block of 24th Avenue around 10:30 a.m. No further police action was taken.

The sagging pants fashion trend has caused much drama nationwide. In June, US Airways was called racist after its flight crew booted a college football player off a plane during a confrontation over his sagging pants.

In recent years, communities across the nation have outlawed low-hanging pants. A public transit system in Fort Worth, Texas, recently said it would turn away riders who refuse to pull up their pants.

In Lynwood, a suburb south of Chicago, those caught wearing sagging pants in public are being slapped with fines as high as $250, according to local newspapers.
