San Francisco police say suspect in SoMa shooting fled in limo

UPDATE 3:15 p.m.: Arrest made in connection to shooting. Read here:

Police investigating a weekend South of Market shooting that wounded two people – including an innocent bystander – said Monday the gunman fled in a black limousine with nine other people.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Minna Street, between Fifth and Sixth streets, at 2:13 a.m.

The gunman, a man in his 20s, approached a 42-year-old man walking in the area and opened fire, pumping five bullets into him, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

One of the bullets is believed to have ricocheted and struck a bystander, a 25-year-old man, he said.

Both victims were hospitalized and expected to survive, Esparza said.

The gunman, and also a second suspect, hopped into the black limousine with eight others. Police have yet to announce an arrest in the case.

Police are asking witnesses or anyone with information to call the department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text TIP411.
