Man hit in head with baseball bat in Tenderloin

A 72-year-old man was struck in the head with a baseball bat for no apparent reason Sunday morning, cops said.

The man was standing on the corner of Ellis and Taylor streets around 1:25 a.m. when a man in his 20s approached, struck the man with the bat and fled on foot, police said. Nothing was stolen from the victim.

The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for a concussion. No arrest has been made.
