A South of Market resident was startled awake by an intruder who was standing at the foot of his bed early Tuesday, police said.

The terrifying discovery was reported to cops around 3 a.m. in the unit block of Fourth Street.

The suspect, a 56-year-old woman, was arrested soon after the break-in, police said. The victims included a 65-year-old man and 46-year-old woman. The man chased the suspect out of the room, cops said.

Nothing from the residence was reported missing.
