A 26-year-old man who stood his ground against a gun-toting carjacker avoided the robbery in the Sunnydale housing project Tuesday night, police said.
One of two thugs pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his car as he sat inside the vehicle in the unit block of Brookdale Avenue around 10 p.m., police said Tuesday.
The victim refused, and was belted in the face with the gun, police said.
The suspects opted not to steal the car and fled on foot. The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital injuries that were not life threatening, police said.
There were no arrests. Suspect descriptions were not immediately available, though a preliminary police summary says they were in their early 20s.
