Prosecutors say dirty dad forced daughter to walk around pantless

A Menlo Park man allegedly beat his 15-year-old daughter and forced her to walk around his home pantless, prosecutors said.

Rasheed Brooks, 36, is set to appear at a pretrial conference in San Mateo County on Monday on charges that include felony child abuse.

Over the course of a year starting in 2009, prosecutors say Brooks' biological daughter lived in terror. Brooks allegedly would not allow his daughter and wife to wear pants while in the house, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said. He would often slap their behinds, Wagstaffe said.

He’d also allegedly forced them to watch sex flicks and had his daughter remove clothing so he could inspect her skin, the district attorney said.

In August of last year, the teen was allegedly struck up to 30 times with a belt and dragged on her back across the floor for yelling at her father, Wagstaffe said.

She phoned her biological mother, who brought her daughter to police.

Brooks is out of custody on $50,000 bail.

The case is set for jury trial on July 11.
