Two wounded in South of Market shooting; gang involvement being investigated

Two people were injured in a shooting in the South of Market district early Thursday that may have been gang related, a San Francisco police spokesman said.

The victims, ages 20 and 22, suffered bullet wounds that are not considered to be threatening in the attack at Sixth and Minna streets just before 2 a.m., police Lt. Troy Dangerfield said.

“One was hit in the leg and the other in the arm,” Dangerfield said.

The victims were transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

The gang task force is investigating. A handgun was the weapon used, police said.
