A woman was punched and another assaulted during brutish overnight robberies.

A 36-year-old woman was twice punched in the face in the 400 block of Brussels Street while trying to tug her purse away from a thug in his late 20s, police said. She lost her purse and cellphone during the robbery around 9:30 p.m.

About an hour earlier, three young thugs struggled with and ripped a purse away from a 33-year-old woman in the 200 block of Schwerin Street, police said

A little after 2 a.m. Tuesday, a man in his 20s assaulted an 18-year-old woman at Haight and Masonic streets in a bid to steal her cellphone. The victim fled the scene, leaving her cellphone behind, police said.

No arrests have been made in any of the cases, police said.
