Woman’s bank account mysteriously compromised

A San Francisco woman told police that fraudsters purchased 11 BART tickets, each with $100 in value, using her bank account on Wednesday.

The woman told Ingleside Station police officers nothing was stolen from her purse so she had no idea how the purchases were made. She received a phone call from the bank at around 8 p.m.

The bank told her that another $180 was spent at Trader Joe’s, and another $83 at the Balboa BART station. All her accounts were then closed, police said.

The victim told cops she had ridden on BART that day, but had her purse with her the entire day.

Cops are investigating the fraud report.
