Stonestown Galleria mugging injures man, 28

A 28-year-old man was brutally attacked and robbed at Stonestown Galleria Mall on Wednesday, police said.

After creeping up behind him at the mall around 8:45 p.m., one of two thugs struck him in the head several times with an unknown metallic object, police said.

The second thug grabbed the man’s backpack and they both fled. No arrests have been made.

The man was transported to the hospital to treat his non-life-threatening injuries, cops said.

This article was corrected on Friday, Feb. 25. The original article said a 28-year-old woman was attacked. The victim was actually a 28-year-old man. The Examiner regrets the error.
