Even in the zany world of San Francisco politics, Supervisor Chris Daly stands out, and trust me, that is not a good thing.
The famously foul-mouthed agitator vowed early this year to use the F-word at every public board hearing he attends – and that doesn’t mean a shortened version of Fairfield, the city that he now (mostly) calls home.
Daly’s outrageous behavior has drawn headlines over the years, to the point where he’s become a sort of publicity junkie who can’t stand it when the mayor or his colleagues get press for possibly doing something good. So now he’s come up with a quick way to make sure he gets attention, by showing everyone what an outrageous, oafish bore he can be.
Sadly, the press is keeping watch – I got asked about Daly’s antics during a radio show on KGO this morning.
I’m going to make my own resolution: Daly will get no space in my column until he stops swearing at public meetings or until the board censures him, something that it should have done when his eruptions began about 10 years ago.
