Don’t try to raise cain with this old swatter.
A 78-year-old man used his cane to fend off armed youths trying to rob him in Bernal Heights Monday, police said.
The man was sitting on a bench in the unit block of Mirabel Avenue when the young punks between ages 12 and 16 figured they had stumbled upon an easy score.
The victim told police he saw the boys walking up and down the residential street before they approached him, San Francisco police spokesman Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.
One of the punks pulled out a knife and demanded the man’s money, Andraychak said.
But the dirty punks messed with the wrong Harry. The man stood up from the bench, raised his cane and waved it at the boys, scaring the young punks off, Andraychak said.
The crooks in training fled the scene and the cane-wielding gent suffered no injuries, he said.
