Rash of Subaru break-ins rouse suspicion

Does a burglar have a bone to pick with Subaru?

During a 24-hour period starting Thursday, at least five Subaru cars were broken into in San Francisco, according to Northern Station Police Capt. Ann Mannix.

It is not known whether the same burglar was responsible for all the break-ins. The only pattern is that they were all Subaru cars, Mannix said.

In a heist sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning,  at Subaru was broken into at Post and Divisadero streets. The thief made off with two iPods and a pair of sunglasses. The victim made it easy on the burglar - the car was possibly left unlocked, according to Richmond Station Police Capt. Richard Correia.

“Don’t leave anything that may appear valuable inside your parked, unattended car,” Mannix said via Twitter on Friday.
