It was sleepless in San Francisco for a 28-year-old man who was beaten and robbed of his backpack and sleeping bag during a spat on Hippie Hill in Golden Gate Park.

The fight started between two men at around 6 p.m. Friday, police said. But then the 28-year-old from Lacey, Wash., was set upon by 10 others, according to police.

Further information about the large fight was not immediately known.
