Man doing laundry robbed, carjacked by dirty crook

The crook thought he had a clean getaway in the South of Market district, but his ploy to rob a man who was doing his laundry was soiled, police said.

The suspect robbed the victim of his wallet and car at knifepoint in the area of Tandang Sora and Rizal streets around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

At the time, the victim had been fetching laundry out of his vehicle. He hopped out of the car when the crook jumped in. The victim called cops, who later found his car in the area, police said.

The cops waited for the suspect to return to the car. When he did, the crook was arrested, police said.
