Elderly man sucker-punched, robbed in Chinatown

A 60-year-old man removing money from his wallet in Chinatown was viciously attacked by a thug nearly half his age Monday afternoon, police said.

The thug sucker-punched the victim several times in the face on a street corner at California and Grant streets around 12:30 p.m.

As the man fell to the ground, the suspect, described as an Asian man in his mid-to-late 30s, grabbed the cash from the wallet and fled, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries, police said.

There has been no arrest.
