Alleged drunken driver smashes van into SFFD ambulance

A driver whose van collided with a Fire Department ambulance near St. Mary’s Hospital on Thursday was arrested for drunken driving, police said.

The collision occurred at Stanyan and Fulton streets around 2:30 a.m.

The driver of the van, a 52-year-old South City man, was driving on a suspended license and had a warrant out of Pacifica for DUI, police said.

No injuries were reported.
