Glen Park farmers market coming to BART

After a year of debate about where to put a Glen Park farmers market, the neighbors may have finally found a spot.

The nonprofit Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association is trying to secure the Glen Park BART Station parking lot on Sundays since it’s not really used by the neighbors.

Neighbors and merchants could not agree on a spot last year, so it never happened.

Now all they need to do is get BART

on board.

BART director and board member Tom Radulovich said that since BART wants to turn that lot into a mixed-use development with housing and retail, he wants to make sure the market won’t hinder those plans in the future.

“I think that it’s just causing some fear that we may lose control over the property, but I’d like to find a way to host the farmers market,” he said.
