This week, the House of Representatives will turn its focus to controversial new entities created by legislation passed during the Obama administration -- the Medicare Independent Payment Advisory Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius will testify to both the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Budget Committee on IPAB, the rationing panel created by Obamacare. And Richard Foster, the chief actuary of Medicare, will also testify before the Budget Committee along with Stephen Goss, chief actuary of the Social Security Administration.
Elizabeth Warren, Obama's pick to head the new CFPB created by the financial regulatory bill, will reappear before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committeee. Back in may, she skipped out on a hearing, citing a prior scheduling conflict.
Also, with the economy in the spotlight, the House Financial Services Committee will hear testimony from Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke.
