VIDEO: The bumps, the shovel, and the ATMs

President Obama has not had a good month trying to explain why his economic policies have coincided with unemployment rising to 9.1% according to the May jobs report. First, Obama told factory workers in Toledo, Ohio: "There are always going to be bumps on the road to recovery. We’re going to pass through some rough terrain that even a Wrangler would have a hard time with. We know that."

Then, this Monday, Obama joked with Jobs Council about his failed infrastructure stimulus spending: "Shovel-ready was not as ... uh .. shovel-ready as we expected."

Finally, Obama told NBC News this Tuesday: "There are some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers. You see it when you go to a bank and you use an ATM, you don't go to a bank teller, or you go to the airport and you're using a kiosk instead of checking in at the gate."
