Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., long known for his short temper and erratic temperament, lost his cool yet again and yelled at a constituent who took him to task for not doing more to avert a looming government shutdown.
“Why are you here tonight and not in Congress trying to figure out how to stop this from happening?” the man, who described himself as a 27-year disabled veteran, demanded at a town hall meeting at Frances Hammond Middle School in Alexandria.
“If you think people are disturbed about [the federal government] shutting down, wait to hear how disturbed they are waiting to hear when it goes back on, especially when Congress is on vacation,” he added.
Moran erupted after the vet objected to his snide characterization of what he had said. “I take exception to you calling my comments ‘caustic’,” he said.
At which point Moran basically told him to sit down and shut up. 
Good advice. Moran should try it sometime.
