Talk about killer song placement!

The band America must still be reeling over their old chestnut “A Horse With No Name” being employed in a crucial scene in the greatest series on TV (well, maybe tied with “Justfied”), “Breaking Bad,” as Brian Cranston’s Walt — uhh, we mean Heisenberg! — character sings along to it in his car, as he slowly went off the meth-cooking rails last season.

Now, the still-intact original duo of Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell are — ahem — keeping that buzz going with a brand-new album, hitting July 26, a full 40 years after their platinum debut.

But there’s a twist. It’s called “Back Pages,” and it’s all covers — songs that meant the world to these top-flight composers.

Naturally, Dylan’s “My Back Pages” is featured, as is Buffalo Springfield’s “On The Way Home,” Simon and Garfunkel’s “America” and CSNY’s definitive “Woodstock.”

There are standards that demanded reinterpretation, too, like The Zombies’ “Time Of The Season” and James Taylor’s “Something In The Way She Moves.” But America isn’t stuck in the past — they also add a hi folk-rock touch to Mark Knopfler’s “Sailing To Philadelphia,” New Radicals’ “Someday We’ll Know” and Fountains Of Wayne’s “A Road Song.”

The only better news would be song placement in the upcoming fourth season of “Breaking Bad” — we’ve got our jittery, blue-stained fingers crossed!
