Saratoga’s Mountain Winery announces summer lineup

It’s a date-night fact — there is no better romantic rock and roll venue in the entire Bay Area than Saratoga’s hills-sequestered, open-air Mountain Winery.

Well, OK, maybe Berkeley’s Greek on a nice starlit night.

But we’re pleased to report that the Mountain Winery just announced their 2011 season of more than 50 shows, tickets for which go on sale Monday, May 9, at www.livenation.com and www.mountainwinery.com.

All shows are at 7:30 p.m., and here are some must-see highlights:

June 8: An evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt

June 14: Jethro Tull, for the 40th Anniversary of “Aqualung”

June 25: Lucinda Williams

July 1: Neko Case

July 5: Steely Dan

July 10: The Monkees, featuring Davy Jones, Mickey Dolenz and Peter Tork

July 17: An evening with Sarah McLachlan and friends

July 21: Matthew Morrison from “Glee”

July 22: Chris Isaak
