The San Francisco Giants' on-field staff is not the only thing that will be seeing changes this offseason — it looks like the team's administration is changing too.
The San Jose Mercury News is reporting that Giants CEO Bill Neukom will not return in that role for the 2012 season.
Multiple baseball sources tell the Mercury News, “that Neukom has been asked to step aside by the Executive Committee of the Giants' ownership group. The action is believed to be the fallout from a series of disagreements with the committee during Neukom's three-year stewardship of the team.”
The Giants’ chief operating officer Larry Baer will likely assume CEO duties once Neukom steps aside.
It is unclear when he will exit the team, but Neukom is expected to remain an investor in the Giants.
