Authorities have identified the homicide victim who died earlier this month after someone intentionally caused him to fall in the Bayview, the Medical Examiner’s Office said Monday.

Johnnie Williams, a 56-year-old San Francisco resident, died on Feb. 14, nearly a month after he was taken to the hospital with injuries from an incident on Jan. 16 at Ingalls Street and Wallace Avenue.

San Francisco police spokesperson Officer Grace Gatpandan said police first responded to the incident as a medical call. But the day after Williams died, investigators returned to the scene and determined that the act was intentional.

Police have yet to release suspect information or more details about the homicide.

Williams’ death was the seventh homicide of the year. On Feb. 16, the eighth homicide occurred when 28-year-old Milkon Isleyen was shot and killed in a double shooting at the Panhandle.
