Bail was set at $10 million Monday for a San Francisco man arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Hayes Valley earlier this month.

Othman Al-Muttalaby, 26, was scheduled to appear for in court for arraignment Monday on murder and domestic violence charges in the Nov. 2 death of Keith Harris.

Al-Muttalaby’s appearance was postponed, however, because he remains in the hospital being treated for an unspecified injury.

Deputy Public Defender Cindy Elias told the judge she would have more information on Al-Muttalaby’s condition later this week, but declined to specify outside of court why he was in the hospital or whether his injuries were self-inflicted.

Al-Muttalaby, who also goes by the name Alkoraishie Ali, was arrested last Tuesday at San Francisco General Hospital on suspicion of murder and domestic violence with allegations of use of a deadly or dangerous weapon, namely a knife, in the commission of the felony and causing great bodily injury.

Harris, a 48-year-old San Francisco resident from Vicksburg, Mississippi who is listed as a software architect at 360i and Instructor on his Facebook page, was found lying on the floor of an apartment in the 300 block of Hayes Street suffering from stab wounds.

He was treated for his injuries but died at the hospital.

Al-Muttalaby, who identifies himself as a personal trainer and go-go dancer on his Facebook page, has been described as a boyfriend of Harris’ and has posted photos taken this summer of the two together.
