Attorney General Kamala Harris has snatched up two prosecutors from her former job as district attorney of San Francisco as she moves to round out her senior staff at her new job.
Michael Troncoso, former head of the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office Mortgage and Investment Fraud Unit, will be Harris’ senior counsel, her office said in a statement Wednesday.
In his position managing the special assistant attorneys general, Troncoso will “lead some of the office’s most difficult, sensitive and high-profile matters,” including a new mortgage fraud task force, Harris’ office said.
Suzy Loftus, a former domestic violence and elder abuse prosecutor and executive staff member in the District Attorney’s Office, will serve as a special assistant attorney general on criminal law issues and will be a liaison to local, state and federal law enforcement, the office said.
The moves were part of a series of appointments to senior staff positions announced Wednesday by Harris.
