Attacker stabs vehicle passenger in neck


A man was sitting inside a car in the Mission on Saturday when someone opened the passenger-side door and stabbed him in the neck, police said.

The stabbing happened near 16th and Mission streets around 2:47 p.m., police said. The 26-year-old man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive.

The assailant, a man aged about 40, fled the scene on foot. No detailed suspect description has been released.
