ART U hooper wins PacWest Freshman of the Week

Academy of Art men’s basketball player Dante Williams earned PacWest Freshman of the Week honors for his first week of the season as a collegiate player.

Playing against San Francisco State in the season opener, Williams scored 16 points in just 19 minutes. One night later, he chipped in 17 in a 88-85 overtime victory over Stanislaus State on Saturday.

The ART U volleyball team beat UH Hilo in straight sets — 27-25, 25-23, 26-24 — on Saturday.

Outside hitter Kabrina Speakman and libero Melissa Brum led the way for the Urban Knights in the match.
