Arsonist ignites children’s playground in Golden Gate Park

A children’s playground in Golden Gate Park is closed as of Sunday after an arsonist set fire to the play structure, according to the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department.

Rec and Park posted a picture of the melted Koret Children’s Playground and slides Sunday, attributing the damage to “terrible acts of vandalism.”

The nearby carousel will remain open.
