Arrest made in SF’s third homicide of the year

A 41-year-old man has been arrested by San Francisco police for his alleged part in Thursday’s slaying in the Tenderloin, according to officials.

Abdul Cole was booked into County Jail on Monday on suspicion of murder for the killing of Gabriel Ramirez, 61, whose death marks the third homicide of 2017.

At around 3:35 p.m., Ramirez was found on the sidewalk suffering from unknown injuries near the corner of Larkin and O’Farrell streets. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Police had no updates as of Tuesday on the cause of death.
