A 19-year-old man told police he was jumped from behind by four soccer players after watching a game about 9:45 a.m. Police responded to the area of Mendell Street and Galvez Avenue, where the victim stopped at a taco truck after the match. While waiting in line, police said, the man was attacked from behind by four players from one of the teams.

These gardeners allegedly tried to rake in more than weeds.
Two men accused of breaking from their gardening job in order to burglarize a neighbor’s home on Placitas Avenue in North Fair Oaks last month pleaded not guilty to the charges Friday, according to prosecutors.
Victor Oseguera-Rojas, 21, and Ruben Rojas Salas, 24, were allegedly caught hauling bags filled with stolen loot, including two laptop computers, by the mother of the home’s resident on the afternoon of April 11.

The attorney for a Redwood City man accused of impregnating his 12-year-old daughter was granted more time Monday to mull whether to go to trial.
In December of 2007, according to prosecutors, 40-year-old Manuel Jacinto brought his daughter to San Mateo Medical Center for an abortion. The hospital called police, and officers were told by both Jacinto and his daughter that a 12-year-old boy named Giovanni was the father, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who beat and seriously injured a driver after a car crash in Pacifica last month.
Police said officers responded to reports of the assault at the Fairmont Shopping Center, off of Hickey Boulevard, around 11:55 p.m. on April 27.
The victim and suspect had been involved in a car crash on southbound state Highway 35 near Hickey Boulevard prior to the assault, according to police.

A 16-year-old boy who escaped from San Francisco’s juvenile detention center last month is in custody after he reportedly returned home for food, rest and clothes.
The teenager, who broke out of the Juvenile Justice Center on Woodside Avenue along with a 12-year-old boy on April 16, was detained Thursday at his parents’ home, Chief Probation Officer William Siffermann said.

A woman was robbed at gunpoint while opening a Polk Gulch business Thursday morning, police said.
The thug, described as a man in his 20s, reportedly pulled out a handgun and held it to the 34-year-old merchant’s head in the 600 block of Eddy Street, between Polk and Larkin streets, at about 9 a.m.
The robber demanded that the merchant open the door and unlock the safe, police said, and the she complied. While the suspect reached in for the cash, the merchant fled and screamed for help.
