Pablo Sandoval hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning after Gregor Blanco's tying triple in the ninth, and the Giants rallied past the Washington Nationals 4-2 on Tuesday night.Sandoval flipped his bat and shifted into a slow trot as soon as he sent the ball off Yunesky Maya (0-1) over the right-center field wall for his eighth homer this season. Matt Kemp became an Internet sensation after an impromptu gesture he made toward a cancer-stricken Dodgers fan attending a game at AT&T Park.
The Dodgers’ Gold Glove center fielder was informed of the disabled fan’s plight by third base coach Tim Wallach during a 4-3 loss to the Giants on Sunday. After the game, Kemp went to the other side of the field with Wallach and met the fan and his father, who were sitting in the front row adjacent to the third base dugout.

PHOENIX — Brandon Belt hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning and the Giants rallied against Arizona’s bullpen for the third straight game, beating the Diamondbacks 9-6 Wednesday night to complete a three-game sweep.
Belt hit a two-run single off Brad Ziegler in the opener and Pablo Sandoval hit a two-run homer off Arizona closer J.J. Putz on Tuesday.
Belt finished off the series of comebacks with his homer off David Hernandez (1-2), giving San Francisco its first road sweep over the Diamondbacks since July 22-25, 2010.

Brandon Belt hit a two-run single in the eighth inning, helping the Giants beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4 Monday night to end a five-game losing streak.
Belt also had a solo homer in the second inning against Ian Kennedy. The first baseman broke a 4-all tie in the eighth after Brad Ziegler (1-1) gave up a leadoff double to Nick Noonan and walked two.
Marco Scutaro had three hits and scored two runs for the World Series champion Giants. Jean Machi (1-0) pitched a perfect seventh inning for his first win in the majors and Sergio Romo worked the ninth for his ninth save.

The Giants are in desperate need of a strong outing from a starting pitcher to put an end to their current five-game skid and normally Matt Cain would be just the man for the job.
But Cain hasn’t been his normally reliable self in 2013.
The right-hander is off to an 0-2 start and is sporting a 6.59 ERA. To make matters even more troubling, Cain will be tasked with stopping the losing streak in hitter friendly Chase Field in Phoenix.

OAKLAND — His face full of dirt and his body atop the third base bag, Eric Sogard was more concerned with being safe than watching the throw from Baltimore's Manny Machado sail into left field.
For a few moments, it even looked as if Sogard would stay put on the ground.
