Craigslist scammer sentenced to four years

A Craigslist con has been cooked. Pascal Christian Chaubard, 48, of San Bruno, was sentenced Wednesday to four years in state prison for stealing money from 33 people who thought they’d bought cheap airline tickets on Craiglist, authorities said.Between 2007 and 2009, the French national posted advertisements hawking cheap airline tickets on the website, saying he knew airline workers and could get cheaper flights than what the airlines provided. Concussion considered in teen athlete's suicide

The suicide of a Brentsville District High School football player who friends say recently suffered a concussion follows high-profile suicides of collegiate and professional football players that have raised questions about links between brain trauma and mental health. Austin Trenum hanged himself Sunday afternoon, Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William County police spokeswoman, said Tuesday. Marines are changed by Afghan mission

HELMAND PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Matt Garst earned the nickname "The Unbreakable Marine" during the campaign to pacify the area around the town of Marja. Garst, a corporal with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, was leading a squad to establish a checkpoint in late June when he moved into an abandoned compound where his squad could set up an observation post. Former Navy lacrosse player among those killed in helicopter crash

A star local athlete who played football at DeMatha, led the Naval Academy to the 2004 lacrosse title game then became a member of the elite Navy SEALs, was among the nine U.S. military personnel killed in a helicopter crash while on a mission in southern Afghanistan.
