A man crossing the street in San Rafael on Saturday night was struck and killed by a 90-year-old driver, police said.The pedestrian, a 49-year-old San Rafael resident, was crossing Second Street at G Street when he was hit by a Saab traveling eastbound on Second Street at about 9:35 p.m., according to the San Rafael Police Department.The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the Saab, a San Rafael woman, had been returning home from a visit with family, police said.

A 42-year-old man was fatally shot by a Santa Clara police officer during a DUI investigation on Saturday night.The suspect, a Santa Clara man, was pulled over by a uniformed officer in the 2400 block of Karen Drive at about 9:45 p.m., according to Santa Clara police.During the stop, the man became uncooperative and the officer requested assistance, police said.Before additional officers arrived at the scene, the man apparently reached for a revolver in his vehicle, according to police.

A driver was cited for threatening a San Francisco parking control officer with a baseball bat Wednesday, police said.
The man reportedly went bat-crazy because the PCO was placing a "boot" on his car.
The incident occurred in the 2100 block of 15th Avenue around 12:20 p.m., police said.
When officers arrived, the owner claimed he was simply fetching his baseball equipment from the car. But a witness heard the threats, leading to the citation.
No one was injured.

A Petaluma man who eluded police on New Year's Eve was arrested in San Francisco Wednesday night as he was about to board a bus to Arizona.
A sheriff's deputy tried to stop the driver of a Honda for a traffic violation around 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Mike Raasch said.
The car sped off and pulled into a driveway in the 2600 block of Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa. Connor Woods, 21, threw a backpack out the left rear door of the Honda, which was driven by someone else, and fled the vehicle, Raasch said.

A teepee and a table set up by Occupy Oakland activists remained at Frank Ogawa Plaza on Tuesday even though city officials say they've revoked activists' permit for the items.
Sitting at the table, which is next to the teepee, a protester who said his name is Drew said, "People will be here as long as they want to be here."
Drew said "this is my house" and said he's been at the plaza most of the time since Occupy Oakland protesters set up an encampment there in October.
