LOS ANGELES (AP) — The woman who married a notorious Rockefeller impostor and bore his child told jurors in his murder trial Tuesday her story of a 12-year-marriage to a man whose identity was a lie. Sandy Boss said she was charmed by the bright, quirky man who called himself Clark Rockefeller and she believed everything he told her about himself. Calif. law requires new warning after breast exam

SACRAMENTO — California women who have dense breast tissue will get more information following their routine examinations under a state law that took effect Monday.Women with that type of tissue must be notified of that finding after a mammogram. Health professionals say as many as four in 10 women over the age of 40 have dense breast tissue, which can make it more difficult to detect cancer.Patients with such tissue also will be told that their doctor can recommend additional screening options. 4 hurt in crash, attack at San Jose Wal-Mart

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Four people were hurt Sunday when a driver crashed his car into a Wal-Mart and then assaulted customers inside, officials said. The man hit two cars in the parking lot at about 11:15 a.m. with his red Oldsmobile Cutlass sedan then crashed through the storefront near the pharmacy and collided with a beer display before stopping, police and witnesses said. The unidentified driver then got out of his car and used a blunt object to attack people, San Jose police Officer Albert Morales said. The driver was arrested when officers arrived. Read More

Calif. officials: Delta plan to help fish survival

FRESNO, Calif. — California water officials said Wednesday that a $14 billion twin-tunnel plan for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta would restore the ecosystem and reduce deaths of threatened fish, although during dry years the delta smelt would be killed at the same rate as today. During water-scarce years, the existing pumps in the south portion of the delta would continue to divert most of the water, cause reverse flows and kill the fish that get caught in the machinery, according to an analysis in new draft chapters released by the California Resources Agency. Man wins $8K after Disney 'Small World' breakdown in 2009

LOS ANGELES (AP) — An attorney says a disabled man was awarded $8,000 by Disneyland after the "It's A Small World" ride broke, stranding him for a half hour while the theme song played continuously. Lawyer David Geffen says Jose Martinez didn't medically stabilize for three hours after the ride broke down in 2009. Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown said the Anaheim theme park believes it provided appropriate assistance during the incident, and is disappointed that the court did not fully agree. Read More

UC faculty leaders blast bill on Internet courses

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — University of California faculty leaders have endorsed a letter that opposes legislation to allow public college students to earn degree credits for online courses from outside education providers, officials said Tuesday.
