Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain met with coach Dennis Allen before returning to practice Wednesday after serving a two-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.
Allen would not discuss details of the meeting but said McClain would remain on the roster in a backup role after starting nine games this year before his suspension.
“I laid out exactly what the expectations are for him moving forward,” Allen said. “Really, that’s about it. We’re moving on from there. Rolando’s part of this team and we’re going to move on.”

The Raiders reinstated linebacker Rolando McClain from the suspended list on Monday and cut starting cornerback Ron Bartell in the team’s latest roster shake-up.
The Raiders (3-10) also cut backup fullback Owen Schmitt and promoted cornerback Chimdi Chekwa from the practice squad as they plan to get a better look at young players down the stretch of another disappointing season.

Linebacker Rolando McClain remained a member of the Raiders on Thursday despite being told to stay out of practice for a second straight day and not to report to the team facility.
The former first-round pick is stuck in limbo a day after being sent out of practice by coach Dennis Allen for undisclosed reasons.
“There’s going to be consequences to his actions and it’s a team-related issue,” Allen said. “I don’t really want to get into the details of it. We asked him not to come to practice today.”

The slumping Raiders got a jolt Wednesday when running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson returned to practice for the first time since missing three games with sprained right ankles.
Both backs got hurt in Oakland’s 42-32 loss to Tampa Bay on Nov. 4 and were finally cleared to return to practice this week. That loss started the Raiders (3-8) on a four-game losing streak that is the team’s longest in four years.
