Raiders plan for Charles Woodson’s visit

Charles Woodson will receive quite a greeting from Raiders fans when he makes a free agent visit to the team’s facilities on Tuesday. A few of his potential teammates in Oakland will give him a warm reception as well. Woodson spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders after being selected with the fourth overall pick in 1998. He signed with Green Bay following the 2005 season and helped the Packers win a Super Bowl title five years later before being released by the team in February. Read More

Punter Chris Kluwe, wide receiver Josh Cribbs and quarterback Matt McGloin have landed in Oakland. Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie announced the Cribbs and McGloin signings on Thursday, while Kluwe took to Twitter to say he’ll be wearing the silver and black. “I’m excited to be an Oakland Raider and be playing in California,” said Kluwe, who went to UCLA. “Now, my family can actually come to games. Thanksgiving game highlights Raiders 2013 schedule

The Raiders have a Thanksgiving date in Dallas with the Cowboys this season. In addition to that nationally televised game on Nov. 28, the Raiders will appear on “Monday Night Football” when they travel to Denver to face Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Sept. 23. The NFL released schedules on Thursday and for the third time in four years (2010, 2011 and 2013), the Raiders will open on the road. ALAMEDA — The Oakland Raiders have signed safety Reggie Smith and running back Rashad Jennings to free agent contracts.General manager Reggie McKenzie announced the deals Thursday.Smith played four years with San Francisco after being a third-round pick in 2008.
