Charles Woodson will receive quite a greeting from Raiders fans when he makes a free agent visit to the team’s facilities on Tuesday.
A few of his potential teammates in Oakland will give him a warm reception as well.
Woodson spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders after being selected with the fourth overall pick in 1998. He signed with Green Bay following the 2005 season and helped the Packers win a Super Bowl title five years later before being released by the team in February.

Punter Chris Kluwe, wide receiver Josh Cribbs and quarterback Matt McGloin have landed in Oakland.
Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie announced the Cribbs and McGloin signings on Thursday, while Kluwe took to Twitter to say he’ll be wearing the silver and black.
“I’m excited to be an Oakland Raider and be playing in California,” said Kluwe, who went to UCLA. “Now, my family can actually come to games. Hopefully, I’ll be able to play for the next seven years and end my career in California.”

Free-agent return specialist Josh Cribbs followed a recent “great visit” with the Raiders by signing a contract with the team Wednesday.
The Raiders were one of a handful of teams to show interest in Cribbs, who is primarily a kick returner but also had a role as a receiver with the Cleveland Browns.

The Raiders re-signed free agent kicker Eddy Carmona, general manager Reggie McKenzie announced Tuesday.
Carmona, a left-footed kicker out of Harding University in Arkansas, spent training camp and preseason with the Raiders in 2012 after originally signing as a non-drafted rookie free agent. He was out of football last year after being waived by the Raiders on Aug.

The Oakland Raiders selected the former Houston cornerback with the 12th overall pick after trading down nine spots to get a second rounder from Miami on Thursday night.

The Raiders have a Thanksgiving date in Dallas with the Cowboys this season. In addition to that nationally televised game on Nov. 28, the Raiders will appear on “Monday Night Football” when they travel to Denver to face Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Sept. 23.
The NFL released schedules on Thursday and for the third time in four years (2010, 2011 and 2013), the Raiders will open on the road. Coach Dennis Allen will begin his second season at the Raiders’ helm on Sept. 8 in Indianapolis against the Colts and former Stanford standout Andrew Luck.

The bargain-bin makeover by general manager Reggie McKenzie and Dennis Allen is nearly complete, with the NFL draft providing the finishing touches to a franchise in transition.
It’s apparent based on offseason maneuvers the new regime has identified the reasons for its 4-12 season after back-to-back 8-8 seasons in 2010 and 2011.
While the entire team got an overhaul, the Raiders have determined offensive problems had a lot to do with scheme, while the defensive issues had to do with personnel.

He had two interceptions and seven passes defensed in 45 games. He was with Carolina in training camp last year but was cut before the season.
