The 49ers signed Adam Snyder for two years, re-uniting the guard with the team after a one-year absence.
Snyder, 31, appeared in 121 games during his eight-year NFL career that began with the Niners in 2005. He spent the 2012 season with the Arizona Cardinals.
He signed a five-year, $17.5 million deal with the Cardinals last year, but lasted just one season. He was shoved out by Arizona’s new coaching staff after the organization used its first-round pick on North Carolina’s Jonathan Cooper.

Now that the smoke has cleared and the NFL draft, all that’s left this offseason is to ponder who has positioned themselves the best to win Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2, 2014. According to Bovada.com, the 49ers are clearly the team to beat. The 49ers were listed as the 6-1 favorite to win next year’s championship.
During the offseason, the 49ers acquired Anquan Boldin in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. They signed cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey and kicker Phil Dawson.

SANTA CLARA — Several years back, Eric Reid shunned Jim Harbaugh and Stanford to stick close to home at LSU.
Harbaugh's aggressive pursuit impressed Reid nonetheless. Fast forward to NFL draft night 2013, and Reid watched Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers make a big move up to make sure they got him this time.
San Francisco selected the speedy free safety with the 18th pick Thursday night after trading up to get the selection from the Dallas Cowboys.

A board that is well prepped but could change quickly as the draft unfolds.The San Francisco 49ers general manager has already fielded his share of calls from teams trying to boost their chances by acquiring some of those selections from the NFC champions."It's up to us to turn those 13 picks into quality picks," Baalke said. "Certainly the more darts you have the more balloons you can pop."

Reaching the Super Bowl has its perks, and one of them is an increased demand for the national spotlight.
The reigning NFC champion 49ers will get plenty of national exposure in the 2013 season, as five of their games will be played in prime-time.
After a high-profile opener against the Green Bay Packers at Candlestick Park on Sept. 8, the 49ers play a Sunday night road game on Sept. 15 against the division rival Seattle Seahawks.

The San Francisco 49ers will make a bid next month to host the 50th Super Bowl in 2016, and announced today that they are bringing in a couple of stars from the franchise's illustrious history to help out.
Former quarterback Steve Young and coach George Seifert are joining the San Francisco Bay Area regional bid committee to host Super Bowl L at the 49ers' new stadium in Santa Clara, which opens next year.

The 49ers won’t have to wait long to get a glimpse at former quarterback Alex Smith.
The NFL announced preseason schedules Thursday, and the 49ers will take a trip to Kansas City in the second week of the preseason to face Smith and his new team the Chiefs.
After Colin Kaepernick took over for the injured Smith midseason in 2012, he sparked the 49ers on a run that ended with a loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl. Smith was then traded to the Chiefs for draft picks in the offseason.
