Guard Snyder returns to 49ers

The 49ers signed Adam Snyder for two years, re-uniting the guard with the team after a one-year absence. Snyder, 31, appeared in 121 games during his eight-year NFL career that began with the Niners in 2005. He spent the 2012 season with the Arizona Cardinals. He signed a five-year, $17.5 million deal with the Cardinals last year, but lasted just one season. The NFL announced preseason schedules Thursday, and the 49ers will take a trip to Kansas City in the second week of the preseason to face Smith and his new team the Chiefs. After Colin Kaepernick took over for the injured Smith midseason in 2012, he sparked the 49ers on a run that ended with a loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl.
