'Apprentice' contestant dishes about show, Trump's hair

Brandy Kuentzel, who lives in Lower Nob Hill and who graduated from UCLA and the University of Chicago Law School, is a contestant on NBC’s “The Apprentice.”

Why did you apply for “The Apprentice”? You know, to be honest, it was a little bit of a last-minute decision. It was one of those things I thought would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It’s very different than my normal life, but I thought I had to seize the opportunity.

Has it been hard? I would say the hardest challenge, in all honesty, was opening up to America. It really does take a lot of strength to go on television.

What was the hardest exercise? We had to sell petty-cab rides in New York. It was just one of those days. No one wanted one. It was really just sort of demoralizing to stand on a corner and sell them when no one wanted them.

How has it affected your personal life? I think, honestly, San Francisco isn’t really a city that is always tuning in to “The Apprentice.” It’s definitely different back home. In Alaska and Oregon, where my parents live, people seem to notice more.
