Alleged vandal found with firecrackers in his possession arrested in Outer Sunset

Police responded to reports of a man committing vandalism in the Outer Sunset on Tuesday morning and discovered the suspect had a warrant for his arrest, as well as firecrackers in his possession.

When police responded to the incident just before 2 a.m. near 42nd Avenue and Moraga Street, they came upon a man meeting the suspect’s description, police spokesperson Officer Robert Rueca said.

The suspect, a 31-year-old man, was discovered to have a warrant for his arrest. When police searched him, they also discovered that he was carrying firecrackers.

He was booked into County Jail on the warrant, Rueca said, adding that the man was also booked on suspicion of possession of fireworks and for allegedly possessing a switchblade.
