Bird watchers, enthusiasts and scientists scanned Golden Gate Park in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 27 to do their part scouting out different species of birds as part of the annual Christmas Bird Count held by The Golden Gate Audubon Society.  For the past 34 years, dozens of volunteers have banded together to cover over sixteen locations throughout San Francisco chronicling the different species that call the city home over the winter months.
