1 dead, 1 arrested in SoMa hit and run

A 65-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood late Tuesday night, police said.

The collision was reported at 11:30 p.m. at Ninth and Howard streets.

The 40-year-old man driving the vehicle fled following the collision but was later located and arrested. His name was not immediately released.

The name of the man killed in the hit-and-run is not yet being released by the city’s medical examiner’s office.
